What is a Pendulum ride?
A pendulum ride is a large amusement ride that usually consists of a huge swing arm with one end fixed to a bracket and the other end hanging a passenger seat. When the device is started, the swing arm will swing left and right in a vertical plane, and the seat may rotate at the same time, simulating the motion of a pendulum.
Working principle
The working principle of the Pendulum ride is based on the pendulum motion in physics, as follows:
- Starting phase: The device drives the swing arm through a motor or hydraulic system to make it swing from a stationary state.
- Swing phase: 1. The swing arm swings left and right in a large range in the vertical plane, and the swing amplitude and speed are adjusted by the control system.
2. During the swing, visitors will experience a sense of weightlessness and overweight. The greater the swing amplitude, the stronger the excitement. - Rotation phase (if applicable): Some Pendulum rides will rotate 360 degrees while swinging, increasing the excitement.
- Stop phase: The swing gradually slows down and eventually stops, and visitors leave safely.
Features
- High-speed swing: The swing amplitude and speed of the swing arm can reach a high level, and visitors will experience a strong sense of weightlessness and overweight during the swing.
- Spinning experience: Some Pendulum rides will rotate 360 degrees while swinging, increasing the sense of excitement.
- Visual impact: The equipment is usually located in a prominent position in the amusement park. The height and speed of the swing are very visually impactful, attracting visitors to stop and watch.
