How to estimate how many LED lights are needed for amusement rides?

To estimate the number of LED lights required for amusement rides, you can refer to the following steps for calculation and planning:

Determine illumination requirements:

Based on the type and purpose of the amusement equipment, determine the required illumination level (unit: lux, Lx). Different areas (such as play areas, passages, and rest areas) may have different illumination requirements.

Calculate total luminous flux requirements:

Use the formula: Total luminous flux requirement (Φ_total) = Required illuminance (Eav) × illuminated area (A) ÷ (utilization factor (U) × maintenance factor (K)).
For example, if you need to achieve 200Lx illumination, the area is 1050㎡, the utilization factor is 0.5, and the maintenance factor is 0.7, then the total luminous flux requirement is: 200Lx × 1050㎡ ÷ (0.5 × 0.7) = 600,000 lumens (lm).

Select lamps and determine the luminous flux per lamp:

Select the appropriate lamp type (such as LED lamp, metal halide lamp, etc.) according to the needs, and find its luminous flux (Φ_per_lamp) parameters.
For example, if a 400W metal halide lamp is selected, the luminous flux per lamp is 36,000lm.

Calculate the number of lamps required:

Use the formula: Number of lamps required (N) = Total luminous flux requirement (Φ_total) ÷ Luminous flux per lamp (Φ_per_lamp) ÷ Lamp efficiency (if applicable).
For example, if the lamp efficiency is 90%, the actual number of lamps required is: 600,000lm ÷ 36,000lm ÷ 0.9 ≈ 18.5 lamps, rounded up to 19 lamps.

Consider the layout of lamps and actual needs:

According to the layout of the amusement equipment and the range of visitors’ activities, arrange the lamps reasonably to ensure uniform lighting and no dark areas.
Considering that the illumination range of the lamps may exceed the surface of the pool or the play area, the actual number of lamps required may be more than the calculated value.
